Eliquis is an anticoagulant medication that may be prescribed to prevent and treat the formation of harmful blood clots in the blood vessels and prevent strokes.  

This prescription drug is used for the following:

It is usually recommended at a dose of 5 mg twice a day. However, a lower dose of 2.5 mg twice daily is prescribed for patients with atrial fibrillation manifesting any two of the following attributes:
